How does
Inspire work?
Inspire buys Renewable Energy Certificates from wind farms across the U.S. When you become a member, you offset the energy you consume with renewable sources. Together, we increase demand for clean energy on the electric grid.
Your utility company owns the power lines that carry your electricity, and they will still deliver and transmit electricity to your home. They will also still send your bill, with Inspire now listed as your energy supplier.
Your service will be completely uninterrupted, and within a few weeks, your home will support clean energy. Nothing changes, except your new supply price and the positive impact you’re now making on the environment!
How do I know which plan is right for me?
Each Member’s energy usage needs differ. Because each Inspire member is unique and has a specific energy profile, we recommend our Inspire Clean Energy subscription. This plan provides members the easiest way to predict your monthly electricity supply bill with one flat rate payment each month.
Do I pay Inspire instead of my utility company?
You’ll continue to receive and pay one bill directly through your utility. You’ll see Inspire Clean Energy listed on a separate line.
Will you notify my utility that I’m switching?
Yes. We will notify your local utility about your request to switch, and before you know it, your home or business will be connected to 100% clean energy.
If my power goes out, who do I call to fix it?
Your utility company will continue to maintain the power lines, handle outages, emergencies and any other service issues.
How will I receive my $100 Reward Card?
You will receive a $100 Reward Card via mail within 10–14 business days after your second billing cycle with Inspire closes. No action is needed on your part.
